Arvind Kejriwal surrenders, questions exit polls amidst return to jail

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal surrendered to Tihar Jail authorities today after his 21-day interim bail granted by the Supreme Court expired. Before returning to jail, the Delhi chief minister criticized the exit polls predicting a landslide victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, calling them 'fake' and alleging possible manipulation of EVMs.

Most exit polls projected the National Democratic Alliance winning over 350 Lok Sabha seats, with some claiming it could reach 400 seats. Kejriwal's surrender comes after the Supreme Court refused to extend his interim bail, granted to allow him to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.

Kejriwal alleged that his imprisonment was a result of raising his voice against dictatorship, emphasizing that he had campaigned for various parties across states, not just for AAP. Meanwhile, exit polls also suggested that AAP might not win any seats in Delhi. Earlier this week, Kejriwal claimed to have lost six kilograms of weight since his imprisonment, raising concerns about a possible underlying health condition.
